As We Await The Rain: byArthur Iwuala
As We Await The Rain
```We waited for the rain,
Patiently like lap dogs waiting for crumbs,
Dearly, the sky holds still,
The gods have forsaken their own.
On and on we prayed without seizing,
Our Community has lost its season.
We casted our hearts to the ancestors,
They see our tears and hear our sighs,
Our eyes are sore.
What will happen to our faith now?
Where should our trust be kept now?
The prorogue intersecting the fate,
All the crops,
bending without an avatar state,
Elijah has come with a gong,
Or a punishment sent from Heaven,
And then our pains,
Tilting the deepest beneath,
Watching our hopes,
Tossed down in a euphoria of guilt,
We now suck the nipples of shame,
Thinking it brinks fountains of faith,```
