UNIBEN Student makes best version of UNIBEN app for both staffs and Students | article by Davi'O R. Seki
Late in the month of October, Mark Zuckerberg shared a photo of his visit to a university in Beijing. In that photo, a group of students were showing him their work on Artificial Intelligence. Yes. You heard that right — a group of "students" working on "artificial intelligence." Well, that's in Beijing.
Now let's come down to Nigeria. Top of the news in this part of the world were stories about either stolen funds, or other corrupt practices by politicians and what have you. And students joined in the discussions. Don't get this wrong. It is cool to engage in such discussions. But Engagers must understand that such issues appear to be unending, and do not point towards any positive direction (I may be wrong, though). Instead of laying focus on matters that appear to be far-fetched, spreading hatred (unknowingly. That feel alone, I'm involved in it too.), and "wasting energy and time," we should cast our attention upon the innovating events that happen around us. In that same October, Boffin (a UNIBEN-made writer) won a prize in the Common Wealth Essay Competition.
Now, those were just by the way.
While Zuck was in Beijing talking to students advancing on AI's, a UNIBEN Student was about his own business of problem solving (and easing our stress in UNISTRESS). He and his partner made the UNIBEN app. This application can help you access your student-profile and do all the Kofa stuff through your Android device, such as pay fees and run online applications (plus e.t.c., but e.t.c. is not allowed in UNIBEN — it's usually 'minus one' when found in your answer script — so I decided not to add that. But just know the app can help you run a number of stuff easily). Users of the app can also access the UNIBEN website, and receive notifications on news about UNIBEN. Call it all encompassing, if you wish. It is also useful to the staff of the University of Benin as well.
The co-creator of the app (who wants to remain anonymous) says something about it.
"...Well I'd like to access my student's profile as easily as I'd access my facebook account with the facebook app, and that prompted the idea of the UNIBEN app...
"...As you can see, it's d complete likeness of UNIBEN students' profile when using a browser. However, it (the app) would have been kinda ordinary — not unique. Hence, the need for the notification menu...
"... It'll be awesome if I picked up my phone and saw that UNIBEN has made the announcement to start paying school fees or other stuff, [and this appears on my phone].
"...The idea came to me earlier this month (October), and I have been working on it since then...
"... What'll make the app exceptional is the notification menu... Imagine passing info to all UNIBEN students at a go, instead of using WhatsApp broadcasts to keep sharing until it gets to everyone (which maybe ineffective).
"... As for security, it (the application) is as secure as the UNIBEN website itself..."
The creator of this blog is just one of many UNIBEN Students that are involved in activities that will bring positive revolution to our world [starting with the school environment, then to the nation, and then the world at large]. They shine a torch pointing towards a future where Nigeria will be seen as the actual Giant of Africa that it should be, and not just a feign of the term.
He plans on making other apps. Meanwhile, he has already made other ones including Women secrets, Web developer, Nairaland and Bet9ja applications.
The UNIBEN app is totally safe to use. No one will DELETE your Mat. Number from UNIBEN database when you log in. The admins of the app cannot even access your details, and so you should have nothing to worry about when using the application. Plus, it is an all-in-one application!
I have used the app. And I like what I see. Although, the notification page is still in the basic form, and the app guy is aware of this. He mentioned that the app is still in the basic phase, and it would be developed. Personally, I expect more amazing features will be added to it, like Netflix or a mobile TV (maybe).
So, do yourself good by downloading the app if you're a UNIBEN Student or aspirant (I'm not a pastor, but I'll advise you to just download, with faith that you will need it someday — for the aspirants, I mean).

The application is yet to be on Google Play Store. But soon, it would.
Thanks for downloading, and enjoy!
