The Expedition; by Laurretta Obakpolo

Beyond the books, experience teaches what books might fail to teach. In my journey as a student leader, I have had to deal with so many issues that has to do with leadership. Hence, I have learnt leadership by experience and understood leadership by involvement. I have come to realize that leaders are not born but made. It's all about developing daily to fit into taking people not necessarily where they want to go but where they should go. This is what I call leadership.

In view of this, I have put together in writing what I learnt as a student leader leading thousands of students in the University of Benin. This includes the good, the bad and the ugly and how I overcame some of the challenges of student leadership.
