EGO, the killer disease of humanity-by Blessing Nwafor

Nowadays, thanks to the name dropping game and prevalent VIP culture. Everybody wants to be a SOMEBODY, every individual wants to be a VIP or even a VVIP. The deadliest diseases that youths and other humans face is EGO.

How does an ordinary citizen deal with this proliferating VIP culture???? Maybe, this short story will give us a clue. Blessing decided to attend a grand reception given by the king to which she was not invited. She pompously entered the VIP area and seated herself at the foremost elegant chair.

The chief usher approached her and said, MADAM, this is the VIP enclosure and these places where you are sitting are reserved for quests of Honour. She turned and said to him, Oh!, I am more than a mere guest. The chief usher was surprised and asked,. Oh!, So are you a diplomat?????. She replied, i am far more than that. Really.....???, So you are a minister perhaps -- asked the usher. No, I am bigger than that,,, she replied. Oho!!!, So you must be the queen herself, asked by the usher. I am higher than that, she replied. What??????, You are higher than the queen???, Nobody is higher than the queen. She then finally replied, now you have got it right, I AM NOBODY.

Dear reader, think about it. What is the moral of the story????. Why is it that a NOBODY is higher than a KING? , Higher than all so called VIP,s ??. This is simply because real elevation of the self comes through the Abandonment of EGO.

That's the message of the story. My fellow youths, mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters, let's just drop our EGO and see how sweet and truly how we will rise.

Maybe, it is best to be a NOBODY rather than a SOMEBODY, for if you try to be a SOMEBODY, you can always fall but if you are a NOBODY, you will always rise.

Let this wisdom perambulate in our mind and yield good fruits.
