Speak up: by Agoreyo Oghenemaro

SPEAK UP

There is a little child somewhere who had just crossed a major street with a stolen bread tightly held in his fists. His legs feeble and his heart filled with fear as he gets chased by a group of well fed individuals who hold stealing with utter dismay.
What if that child told you that he hadn't eaten any food in the past four days.
What if he tells you of how terrible he feels whenever those contractions smile at him at intervals of his mundane life.

Again a young girl in her early twenties had in the past few weeks tried to recover from the trauma of a sexual abuse. Her soul torn Into shreds and her dignity soaked in the mud of insecurity and timidity.
Slowly as she recovers, you join in a gossip that paints her as a prostitute. You listen with great pleasure and make 'world transforming comments'.
What do you know?

You never know what people suffer.
You never know what people encounter.

The next time you see a scene, an attitude or hear a story, walk up to the parties involved and say.
'SPEAK UP'....
Let me hear you brethren,  let me feel your hearts, SPEAK UP!
